The list was compiled by a panel of more than 300 contributors, including Pulitzer Prize-winning author Peter Druckerman, Pulitzer Prize–winning author Henry Louis Alexander, Pulitzer prize–winning journalist David W Biddle, and Pulitzer Prize winner Thomas Jefferson and his son Jefferson Hawkins.
The authors are ranked by their influence on the lives of Americans.
The top 10 includes Greene, who authored “The Way of the American Self-Reliance,” which has become the bestseller of the modern era; and Drucker, whose “The Power of Words: The Art of Writing and Speech” is a bestseller, a Pulitzer Prize, and a national bestseller.
Greene and Druckers’ “A Democracy Without God” is also a best-seller, and “American Revolution” is one of the most-read books of all time.
Greene also was one of three authors of the Pulitzer Prize for Nonfiction, the highest honor for nonfiction in the United States.
The other two are James Baldwin and Paul Robeson.
The Pulitzer Prize is awarded annually to a writer who writes a work of fiction that deserves recognition for its achievement, its message, and its contribution to the history of literature.
The award is named after John F. Kennedy’s wife, Jacqueline Kennedy, who died in 1963.
The other Pulitzer Prize winners are Robert Greene and George Orwell.
In a letter to The Atlantic magazine, Greene said, “The one book I wish I had written in my life that was the most important book I have ever written was The American Way Of Life.
It’s the best book ever written on the American way of life, and it was the only one that really had that profound influence on my thinking and my thinking on how I thought about everything.”
Druckerman is the author of “American Enterprise,” which won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize.
He is the former editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, and he is the founder and publisher of the Washington Post Books Group.
His new book, “How Americans Became Great,” is a Pulitzer Award–winning, best-selling history of the United Sates.
Wilson is the Pulitzer winner for fiction.
His book “A Republic Under God: A Story of the Making of the Christian Nation” was the best-sellers in the history and influence of the National Book Award.
It won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize in nonfiction.
Wilson’s newest book is “The Nation Under the God.”
It won in the 2010 Pulitzer Prize book for nonlinear narrative, and was nominated for the Pulitzer as well.
He won the Pulitzer for non-fiction in 2015 for his work on the state of Texas.
Hawkins is a MacArthur Fellow.
