Boise, Idaho (AP) French police have raided a hotel in France’s northwest with “more than 200” people, state media said.
Boise-based BNP-Überlief newspaper said Wednesday that the raid in the village of Rennes in the northwestern Bastogne region occurred on Saturday.
It said the raid was to investigate a possible terror threat to French authorities.
France’s Interior Ministry said the number of arrests had risen to “more or less” 200 people, and said it was investigating the situation.
Bavaria’s state prosecutor said Wednesday the raid had led to a series of arrests.
A total of 200 people have been detained, the prosecutor’s office said.
